My Story

I was born at St Mary's Hospital. My Mother wrote to me that it was the happiest day of her life, but in truth she never fully recovered.

Over ten years her post-natal depression escalated into alcoholocism and drug-addiction. Treatments, including electric shock-treatment, did not work. When she died in her bath, no one was surprised. I spoke about it in a podcast with The Times which you can find here.

Since then, we know more about the devestating impact of post-natal depression. Attitudes have changed a bit, but not enough. Science has improved, but we still do not have the answers. Post-natal depression remains silent epidemic that hits mums and families so hard.

That's why I am runnig this marathon. To raise money to support facilities for Mums and their families who are struggling. I have three children born in St Mary's. The treatment was supurb. But I want to see them get better.

Thank you to the Imperial Health Charity which is doing so much to support this cause.
